H:
I'm going to email this to you also, but in case you are checking the blog while in Thailand, you'll see it here...
Dad broke some ribs and punctured a lung on Tuesday morning, 11/18 (at least I think it was Tuesday). It was about 8 a.m., full daylight and he had cramps in his calf muscle. He was stretching his leg (by stepping on it with pressure) when it completely gave out and he fell into his nightstand. He drove to his doctor, got x-rays, did some errands and went home. They called him and told him to go right to emergency. He drove there and walked in the ambulance entrance. He's in the hospital and his number is (I'm putting this into words to defeat any automatic number harvesters there might be out there): seven one seven - six three three - two zero two six. He's in room 215.
He's on morphine because he is having occasional spasms which hurt his ribs so much he cries out while he's talking to you (twice in about 10 minutes I talked to him).
Tomorrow, Thursday, they're going to decide whether they need to operate - they might have to if fluid is leaking out of his lung.
Basically, he's OK, but right now he needs 2 people to help him get out of bed, etc. If he were to go back to the Hanover house soon, he'd need a nurse or the like.
That's about it. Someone is feeding the cats, and he wants to go back to the house so he can take care of them. He thinks they knew he was more injured than he at first realized because of the way they were acting - very nervous.
I'll email this to you on your account you're using to email us.
Talk to you soon,
Love,
C
